The story so far...
By Ensign Kal Aie, Mission Commander, with the help of his bold crew: Dustin Sunflower, Malic Skytower, Lillian Aries, Dinowen, Banditt, Starr Jetaime, Kaori Juliesse, Snapper Desade, Shon Tempest, Jimmy Vehrous, johney Cluny, Madison Pinelli, OneTwoFivePointOh, Shawny Galaga, Joshua Humbridge and I'm really sorry if I forgot someone.
The USS Magellan was on a mission taking medical supplies to a colony. Then they found a disabled denobulan transport with a single denobulan onboard. The transport was in bad shape because it hit an old and forgotten nuclear mine.
The galant vulcan captain and his loyal first officer Dustin took a shuttle to the denobulan transport. The fearless Doctor Lillian Aries stayed in control of the Galant while the warp core malfunctioned.
The boarding party found the denobulan and it simply died. Next they found a strange alien stoaway which didnt show on sensors before.
The vulcan captain suddenly went mad, breaking everything in his way, and lost consciousness. Commander Dustin quickly dragged him and the alien to the shuttle and they returned to the ship on automatic pilot. They were immediatelly brought to sick bay. The alien was too frightened and tried to communicate that he had to go to some planet. He apparently learned english as Lillian made telepathic contact with him to calm him down. Then the alien became aggressive and threatened to take Ensign Dinowen hostage, when Doctor Lillian heroically stunned him with her phaser.
At the same time all vulcans and betazoids on board started acting strange and violently. They only went back to normal once Doctor Lillian put the alien under heavy sedatives.
After that, Dr. Aries woke up the vulcan captain with stimulants, so he could mind meld with the alien.
They discovered the alien had very powerful latent telepathic powers that were starting to show up, and he could barely control them. He wanted to get back to his home planet to perform some ritual.
The planet was in borg space but the valiant Starfleet Officers decided to go anyway for the sake of the crew. It was dangerous to keep that powerful telepathic alien aboard with uncontrolled powers, and they were too far from the nearest Starbase.
So they went into borg space using the ship's cloaking device and reached the planet. Sensors showed one continent filled with borg and another deserted continent with some ruins. That is where the alien wanted to go, so an away team beamed down.
Before they could investigate further, the borg found them and started teleporting drones. They fought tirelessly and managed to beam back to the ship, only to find out the USS Magellan had been ifested with drones as well. The only way to defeat them was to isolate the crew in the bridge's deck and vent all other decks. Still, they were facing a dreadsome Borg Cube.
The cube pursued the starship. At the same time the alien lost control of his powers again and the captain became uncounscious.
Suddenly the borg cube also went dormant. The meticulous Dr. Snapper managed to bring the Captain back to counsciousness. They picked up more life signs from those telepathic aliens inside the Borg Cube, and beamed to the cube to investigate, since it was inert.
Inside the Borg Cube the brave away team rescued another alien, who had not been assimilated yet. Nevertheless, the alien that was originally with tem got infected by borg nanites. They were all brought back to the ship. The medical officer Dr. Snapper managed to stop one of the aliens from being assimilated. Then the borg cube became active again and started attacking the ship. The crew creatively managed to delay the attack for a few moments spamming the Borg's systems with e-mails, and then flooding the hailing frequencies with non-sense messages. It was a desperate time and they used desperate strategies, that had merit and worked for a time.
The borg attacked again and the ship was almost destroyed. In a desperate but logical action, the vulcan captain sacrificed himself to eject the warp core, and died from radiation. Before dying, he transfered his katra to Commander Dustin's mind. The crew used the warp core and tractor beam on emergency power to blow up the borg cube threatening to destroy them.
At that time they had a heavily damaged ship with just impulse power. More borg cubes were approaching. They had one consciouss adult alien who could control his powers, and one uncounsciouss alien who couldn't control his powers and got infected by nanites.
They did their duty and called starfleet for help, but it would take them a while to send rescue. The USS Ajax was the nearest ship.
With the Captain dead and First Officer Dustin suffering with the Captain's Katra in his mind, it was required of Lt. Cmdr. Kaori Juliesse to step up and take the Captain's chair, which she did with distinction.
An excerpt from the Chief Medical Officer's log:
..::K::.. (kaori.juliesse): ==Personal Log. Supplimental. == One thing about starfleet. there is never a day that goes by that doesn't supprise me. This would be one of those days. I reported to bridge as I was called on the comm system. Little did I know I would be sitting in the captains chair. I hope I get what needs to be done although my Hypocratic oath may make me reluctant to "Fire When Ready" All those years of saving lives. It's the same thing. Saving a SHIP full of lives... in some cases destroying other lives to do it. This will take more then getting used to. Computer.... end log." ===

Relying only on impulse power, the crew hid the ship again inside the nebula. They had no sensors or shields while in there. The borg sent 2 more cubes after the Magellan, but stood up waiting outside the nebula.
The Magellan hit a large asteroyd. There were explosions and Ensign Shawny Galaga died in the line of duty. The Chief Engineer restored Warp 1 using the Shuttle's Warp Core in an improvised jury-rig repair.
Chief Tactical Officer Malic Skytower suggested using the ship's auto destruct system to blow up another Borg Cube, while the reminaing crew ejected in escape pods to a nearby asteroyd. But help from the USS Ajax would take 2 hours to arrive and they would have to retrieve the Captain's auto destruct codes from Dustin's mind. They would still be at the Borg's mercy with no ship to defend themselves.
So acting Captain Kaori Juliesse was left with the option of using the infected alien's telepathic powers to try to stop the Borg, which could also kill him. Either she sacrificed the ship and its crew and took the high risk that help would arrive in time, or sacrifice one endangered species to save the ship and its crew.
In a desperate yet clever attempt to avoid such situation, Chief Tactical Officer Malic implemented a bold plan. Science officer Starr discovered the nebula was filled with explosive gas, and that the borg were already sending probes inside. With the help of helmsman Joshua Humbridge, they plotted a course and set up the ship in a certain angle... and exploded the nebula with a specially prepared torpedo.
Being caught by the blast wave in the proper angle, the Magellan was thrown away at astonishing speed, leaving the nebula behind. The borg cubes were caught in the explosion and were heavily damaged.
But the escape came at a high price. The ship was not unscratched, and all its resources were now exhausted. The Borg were insistent and sent another Cube, which caught them off guard. They were stuck in a tractor beam, and the cold heartless aliens began to extract chunks of the Magellan.
The bridge crew still fought bravely, to the last of their strenght. Having no other way to auto-destruct, they rigged the remaining photon torpedoes to overload.
When they thought everything was lost, the distinct sound of a KLINGON BIRD OF PREY decloaking came through the sensors, as the deadly vessel attacked the Borg Cube with the full power of their disruptors and torpedoes. When the USS Magellan was about to be destroyed, red beams of energy engulfed the whole crew... and in a split second they found themselves in the bridge of a Klingon ship, where they saw a most sad scene on screen...
... the rigged torpedoes on board of the Magellan reached critical mass and exploded, starting a chain reaction that ended up destroying the whole Starfleet vessel, in a huge ball of fire that also consumed the Borg Cube. It was the end of the USS Magellan, the pride of the fleet, a ship that sustained many battles and prevailed. The final flight of the Magellan, but she protected its brave crew until the end. They were all safe aboard the Klingon vessel.
The Klingon captain introduced himself and informed all life forms aboard the Magellan were beamed aboard. They had received the call for help and came on the double, as they realized they would arrive before the USS Ajax, to help their honored Starfleet allies.
A command was issued in klingon language, and the IKS Brana cloaked again into safety, as more Borg ships approached. They were now a crew without a ship, the battle was far from over, but they would never give up!
