A crew without a ship

    The crew of the USS Magellan was properly welcomed to the IKS Brana by their captain, K'al. They explained what happened during the borg fight.

    Captain K'al told he intercepted the call for help and realized they were the nearest ship, so they came to help their Starfleet allies.

    They received a message from the USS Ajax requesting that they rendevouz at DS18, the nearest Federation Starbase. The Ajax had also engaged a Borg Cube and was in need of repairs.

    It seemed the telepathic alien's planet was being used by the Borg as an assembly line to set a foothold in the sector. Both Klingon and Federation would have to work together to prevent this.

    During the trip to DS18, Dr. Lillian Aries used her betazoid telepathic abilities to examin first officer Dustin and the 2 alien guests. For some reason they collapsed when the Borg Cube exploded.

    She discovered that the late vulcan captain's mind was well preserved inside Dustin's mind, and was able to make him stop allucinating.

    As to the aliens, she discovered they somehow managed to maintain telepathic contact with their assimilated kindred inside the Borg collective. That was valuable information that could be used as a weapon.

    Upon arriving at DS18, acting commander Malic Skytower handled a report to Station Commander Brisco, and assumed full responsibility for what happened to the USS Magellan, although the actions of the entire crew were nothing but heroic.

   
So they waited there for the USS Ajax's arrival and started divising a plan to fight the Borg in the sector.
